The Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation (CHAC) is seeking a culturally connected Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander leader to join us as General Manager. This is an identified role leading our organisation, which empowers Aboriginal people through programs that build identity, confidence, and self-determination, guided by our values of Culture, Care, Community, Capacity, and Capability. As GM you will:
  • Lead CHAC’s day-to-day operations and strategic growth.
  • Advocate for our Community and Culture, representing CHAC publicly.
  • Support and develop our leadership team and organisational structure.
  • Ensure CHAC remains community-driven and culturally grounded.

IFSS Family Support Practitioner
Integrated Family Support Services

We are seeking an Integrated Family Support Services (IFSS) Program Coordinator for a part-time position (0.9). IFSS is focused on increasing the wellbeing and safety of children, young people (0-18) and families. Through a case management approach, support and resources are developed to build family strengths, resilience, capacity, and sustainability. 
  • Assist clients through therapeutic intervention and referral to suitable services. 
  • Provide intensive ongoing person-centred case management. 
  • Proactively raise concerns about any issues that affect the safety and wellbeing of children and young people engaging with Mission Australia services. 
  • Respond to referrals of clients to the service from internal and external support services and conduct over the phone and formal face to face assessments of suitability for support. 
  • Use counseling, support and education/information to engage clients to meet goals.

Youth Mental Health and Family Violence Program Coordinator

We are seeking a Youth Mental Health and Family Violence Program Coordinator for a Full Time position. This role is to raise awareness of mental health to the youth (12 - 25 years) in the region and the impact it has on individual family and community level, and reduce barriers to youth accessing services.
  • Strengthen the emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth by providing healing activities and supports
  • Delivering individual case management services and providing referral pathways for families
  • Deliver workshops and educational sessions that provide resources to address mental health
  • Develop and coordinate programs and report accordingly, including budgeting expenses
  • Maintain North West Tasmania Aboriginal culture through “On Country” experiences
  • Ensure all client information is kept secure and safe and confidentiality is of high priority and non-negotiable.

IDDI Coordinator
Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative

We are seeking an Illicit Drug Diversion Initiative (IDDI) Program Coordinator for a part-time position (0.4) working alongside our Alcohol and Other Drugs Program Coordinator. The project aims to: Provide drug education, assessment and treatment via brief interventions to individuals diverted by the Tasmania Police under this initiative. Accept referrals from the Alcohol & Drug Service Diversion Worker and provide the diverted individuals with a brief intervention in accordance with the IDDI manual.   • Provide access to appropriate, timely, effective and quality treatment services for people affected by alcohol, tobacco and other drugs.
  • Provide a client focused approach to support, operating in a harm minimisation framework.
  • Provide evidence based reporting
  • Be integrated and delivered in partnership with other sections of the Human and health service System
