Culture & Language

Celebrating Culture, Strengthening Language

Our Culture and Language Programs celebrate Aboriginal traditions and strengthen identity through learning and community connection. Guided by Elders and supported by our team, we provide opportunities to share stories, practice culture and reawaken language together.

From workshops and gatherings to everyday conversation, these programs invite families and community members to embrace Culture, learn language and keep it strong for future generations.

Culture

Culture is at the heart of all program delivery.

The Culture and Capability Program aims to support the Indigenous community of the Circular Head region to rediscover, learn and maintain their culture with a focus on intergenerational transmission of knowledge. The central theme is similar to that of CHAC's mission to inspire and empower Aboriginal people by embracing culture.

Marmanar Language

Our Marmanar Language Program supports the reawakening of the sleeping language of the 12 tribes of Northwest Tasmania. Guided by Elders and embraced by community, the program offers workshops, storytelling and learning opportunities that help family reconnect with culture and identity.

We invite everyone to join us in celebrating language, sharing knowledge and keeping Marmanar strong for future generations.
