National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS):
If you are a person living with disability, Circular Head Aboriginal Corporation (CHAC) is a registered NDIS provider who can assist your needs.
National Disability Insurance Scheme is an Australian Federal Government initiative to assist and provide individual support and services for eligible people living with a permanent and significant impairment.
NDIS commenced in Tasmania 01 July 2013 assisting people within the 15 – 24 years age band introduced 01/07/2013.
The roll out strategy is to introduce a new age band every six months being January and July each year over a three year period and commenced in July 2016.
Age bands introduced through the roll out thus far are:
12 – 14 years introduced 01/07/2016
25 – 28 years introduced 01/01/2017
4 – 11 years introduced 01/07/2017
Next age bands to be introduced are:
29 – 34 years to be introduced 01/01/2018
0 – 3 years and 35 – 49 years to be introduced 01/07/2018
50 – 64 years to be introduced 01/01/2019.
The roll out will be complete by 01/07/2019. It is expected that 10600 Tasmanians will be assisted participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
